Jello Jigglers

July 30, 2009
By Michelle Kempton

The first day that I started to run I weighted 250lbs! I’m sure it wasn’t a pretty sight for any bystanders witnessing this event… but to be honest I was too preoccupied by the fact that I could barely breath and was quite confident I tasted blood in my mouth to care about what I looked like the entire time.  Though when I’d run by people I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I wondered if they were watching my fat jiggle.

Now that I’ve lost over 70lbs, I’m more confident when I run. My shoulders are held back, my chin is up high and I know my booty is lookin’ good! If you are overweight and want to start running… you need to visualise what you are going to look like in a couple months into your running and forget about what is jiggling now! Even after a year of running, I’m happy with about 90% of my body… but I still hate my inner thighs… with the hundreds of kilometres (actually maybe thousands by now) that I’ve run… by now I don’t understand how they aren’t completely toned.  I’ve come to the resolve that we are programmed to never be completely satisfied with our bodies… no matter how we look and to just get over it!  If my inner thighs jiggle like jello… so be it!

Keep in mind when you start running it doesn’t take long to turn flab into muscle… that’s what is so great about running… results!
