Alberta runner plans 250 marathons in 2010

Cochrane, Alta.’s Martin Parnell is attempting to run 250 marathons in 2010 in a bid to raise $250,000 for Right to Play.

Cochrane, Alta.’s Martin Parnell will attempt to run 250 marathons in 2010 in a bid to raise $250,000 for Right to Play, an international, humanitarian group. For the fundraiser, dubbed Marathon Quest 250, Parnell plans to run five marathons a week and take Fridays and Saturdays off. Most of the marathons will follow the course of the Cochrane Foothills Marathon, but will also include some official events, such as the Boston, Vancouver and Calgary marathons.
