Canadian teams dominate NACAC XC

The Canadian junior men’s and women’s teams were both victorious at the North American Central American and Carribean (NACAC) cross-country championship in Mount Irvine, Trinidad & Tobago on Saturday.
Genevieve Lalonde of Moncton led the women’s team, winning the 4K race in 13:49.4. Team Canada placed four runners in the top 10, scoring a very low 16. The United States was second in 24.
Mohammed Ahmed of St. Catharines, Ont., was the top Canadian in the 6K men’s race, finishing second in 18:20.3. Team Canada finished with a score of 23. The United States was second in 28.
Teams from Canada, United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Bermuda and the host Trinidad & Tobago were represented.
