Speed River's Eric Gillis and Reid Coolsaet confirmed their plans to run the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Sept. 26.

Speed River’s Eric Gillis and Reid Coolsaet confirmed their plans to run the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Sept. 26.

They made the announcement at a town hall meeting of Guelph’s running community on May 25.

Coolsaet has battled an injury for most of the season, and decided on aiming for a fall marathon rather than risk anything on the track this summer. He won the Canadian marathon championship in 2009 and represented Canada at the world championships in Berlin.

Gillis made a stellar debut at the 42.195K distance in January, running an impressive 2:13:52 at the Chevron Houston Marathon.
