It was a scorcher of a morning in Toronto as a sold-out crowd took part in the Waterfront 10K.

There were a number of Olympians in the field including Natasha Wodak, Krista DuChene, Eric Gillis and Reid Coolsaet. Wodak prevailed in the women’s race while Daniel Wendimu won the men’s race. See more detailed results plus a link to all times below.

The Toronto Waterfront 10K was the third stop on the Canada Running Series circuit. Next week, CRS heads west for the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon. This year, Lululemon was the title sponsor and the Waterfront 10K sold out well in advance of race day. Among the race features, Lululemon offers runners free photographs from throughout the event as well as being the provider of the race shirts. Plus, there was also a doughnut stop in the finish line chute.

Daniel Wendimu’s winning time, bettering runner-up Abreham Wagaye’s 30:39.6. Sami Jibril was third in 30:44.7.

Natasha Wodak, the Canadian record holder over 10,000m, won the Toronto Waterfront 10K over Leslie Sexton, who finished in 34:47.8. Dehininet Jara, who raced the 10,000m at the Canadian Championships on Wednesday in Guelph, Ont., was third in 34:50.7. Sexton raced for the first time in 2017 after overcoming an ankle injury in late fall.

Coolsaet raced for the first time since December when he ran 2:10:55 at the Fukuoka Marathon. The second fastest marathoner in Canadian history has battled injury for much of 2017. Three-time Olympian Eric Gillis did not finish citing a sore quad. Gillis dropped out at 4K.

The birth year’s of Serenity (1:11:38) and Hunter (1:18:42), the two youngest participants to finish the Toronto Waterfront 10K.

Marilyn Regan’s birth year. She was the oldest participant to finish the Toronto Waterfront 10K on Saturday morning, covering the course in 1:49:07.

Number of runners who started the race. The 2017 event sold-out more than a month ahead of race day. Runners from nine provinces and two territories were represented at the race in addition to runners from the United States and eight other countries. All finishers received some pretty sweet bling at the finish line too.

Sixty-eight per cent of the field were women, just below the average for Lululemon events, according to Canada Running Series director Alan Brookes.

It was approximately 24 C in Toronto on Saturday morning as runners battled warm conditions along the lake shore. After the race, hundreds of runners took part in a yoga routine near the finish line on Lakeshore Boulevard.
