Post Week 9!
on: August 2, 2010, 19:14

Great first run for the week.  I ran 10k in the Springwater trail system.  Very nice in there.  Plenty of hills and nifty single track sections.  It was pretty quiet in there today-just a few runners and a couple of dogs!  I ran consistent through all 10k and I was pleasantly surprised that my legs felt as good as they did after Saturdays epic 32km!!  At this point in the game-I feel very confident.

I am a 30 something mom of 2 young children. I have been married for 11 years and am currently staying home to be with my little ones. I love to run! It keeps me balanced and I feel healthy.  When I am not running I enjoy reading and wine!

Well, I was hoping that the humidity was going to be absent for a bit longer. Thought I was going to throw up my breakfast doing intervals this morning. My daughter looked even worse than I felt, and I think she swore at me a couple of times when I asked how she was feeling. Despite the heat and humidity I am hitting my target paces on almost every workout.

Doodles-good for you for hitting your target paces in the heat! It is very thick out there and you are doing great!
Last night on ran on the treadmill.  I ran 10 km with 2 being warm-up and 7 @5:18 and the last km as a warm down.  I am definately noticing an improvement as I can hold this pace fairly well!

I ran estimated 800m repeats yesterday evening on the way home from work. On my warmup, it was disgustingly hot and humid and I was dreading the fast running, but then - wham! - it started to pour rain. I have a waterproof cover for my backpack, so I slipped it on and hammered the workout in a downpour. Best run I’ve had in a long time. Anyone else enjoy running in the rain?

re:running in the rain.  Absolutely!  I got caught in the rain 2 weeks ago during a 30km run!  I was soaked but it felt so good becuase it had been so humid.  My pace increased during the rain.  It rained for 20 of the 30km! When I got home I had to take apart my shoes to dry and my toes were white!

Home in Halifax after a week in New Orleans. Managed to get all training in with my friend and her running group, but whew was it hot and humid. I have never sweat so much in my life (living/running in a Moksha hot yoga studio. So far it has been a good week of training with a 25k tempo on Tuesday and 8 x 3 min repeats today. This weekend I am hoping to run a 1/2 marathon simulation at my marathon pace! Less than 2 months ’til race day whoop whoop!

I am a 24 year old teacher from Bedford, Nova Scotia and Toronto will be my first marathon. I ran cross country all 4 years of my undergrad for St.FX, and ran for the Ottawa Lions while I was completing my B.Ed at uOttawa. I am very excited about pursuing this new goal!

i LOVE running in the rain — and wish it would rain more!  i did the chicago 1/2 this past weekend and it was my worst race yet.  although i still finished with an OK time… i was not feeling great.  i was so hot i was shivering!  does that happen to anyone else?  after getting married july 3rd i hardly ran at all during my 2 week honeymoon and now i’m paying for it!

I’m a 30 year old female who is getting married this summer :) I started training for long races about a year ago and qualified for Boston in my first marathon ever last fall (Long Beach, California).  Since then, i have been addicted and can’t wait to imrpove.  My PB is 3:17 in Arizona this past January - i want to hit that 3:15!

Like a lot of runners, I love the rain, a lot of my non running friends think I’m crazy but some of my best runs are in the rain.

I am 58 year old grandfather of 10 grandchildren, I live in High Level Ab. two hours from the NWT border, I started running in 2006, I ran one leg of the Canadian Death Race that year, fell in love with running, last year I ran my first full marathon and three 1/2 marathons along with one leg of the Death race, this year I plan on doing four 1/2 marathons as well as the Death Race.

Rain, snow…don’t mind them at all :) Humidity is the only thing that can deminish my excitment for a run. Out east, fortunately, the humidity has died down!

Good week of runs!  got some meds for my acid reflux and they are kicking in, so running is enjoyable again!!

51 more days! I can’t wait!  I’m equally excited to start our two week roadtrip leading up to the marathon…Montreal to visit family, Ottawa to see friends and do the 5km Army Run to support our friend who is new-ish to running!  Then heading to Toronto and doing all the touristy things, as he’s never really spent any time there!  Just hoping to be mindful of the food and beer we consume leading up the marathon!

Live in Moncton, New Brunswick my first passion is my husband (ofcourse)next comes running, sushi and red wine! VERY excited to visit my native province and run my first full Marathon in Sept!!
