The former CEO of Vibram has unveiled the design of his next shoe project – and it’s got two toes, not five.
Tony Post, whose new company is called Topo Athletic, released the design for the new shoes that feature a split-toe design known as tabi, which has Japanese origins.
Never one to shy away from unique looking shoes, the new ToPo models look quite similar to the Vibram Five Fingers minimalist design, only with a split toe instead of five toes.
The company website says the design is something they call “innate amplification.” The construction, fabric and designs are meant to optimize human biomechanics.
“The result is a new kind of athletic shoe-one that brings a subtle but sophisticated technology to the instinctive movement of the human foot and body,” the company website says.
