A 2017 guide for British Columbia marathons
Plan out your 2017 racing schedule with a complete list of marathons in British Columbia for the year.
British Columbia is one of the most popular places to run in Canada offering views of the ocean, lush trails and mountainous terrain depending on where you are. It’s appropriate that there are a wide range of marathons to chose from in 2017.
By Canadian Running‘s count, there are 14 marathons in British Columbia in 2017. Somewhat surprisingly, the province’s largest city, Vancouver, hosts just one 42K, the BMO Vancouver Marathon. Meanwhile, the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon doubles as the province’s marathon championships.

The most popular of all the year’s weekends comes Oct. 7-8 with three marathons across the province. Looking for races in British Columbia shorter or longer than a marathon? BC Athletics has a handy list of races in the organization’s calendar. Alternatively, check out CR‘s recommendation for a Canadian race a week for all of 2017.
