A new ‘zombie-infested’ obstacle course race is hitting North America this summer, allowing participants to run a 5K while dodging brain-hungry, virus-spreading, bloody zombies.

Before the race, participants are given a flag belt representing your health. Along the course, runners will dodge zombies, who are trying to grab the flags, as well as run through 12 man-made and natural obstacles. The goal is to make it to the finish line with at least one flag remaining. Health ‘bonuses’ are hidden throughout the course, and it can ‘save’ a runner’s life.

Once runners make it to the finish, their times are recorded, however any runner who finishes with no health flags will not be eligible for awards.

Races are happening throughout the year in Atlanta, Boston, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Denver, St. Louis, Los Angeles and more. More locations will be announced, including a rumoured Toronto location in September.
