One of Canada’s most scenic events went off on Saturday at the partial site of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

The North Face Whistler Half-Marathon, which goes off from Whistler Olympic Plaza in the heart of the British Columbia ski town, features sections of road, trail and challenging hills. The town’s only half-marathon, and its four accompanying distances excluding the namesake race, featured as many as 2,000 runners.

For the third consecutive year, Marilyn Arsenault won the women’s half-marathon. The 49-year-old, her age group winner at the 2016 New York City Marathon, ran 1:25:13, approximately 1:40 ahead of Care Nelson in second. Adam Way bettered second-place’s Paul McNamara by 25 seconds running 1:19:20.

The race held a 30K for the first time, a lesser-contested distance and a halfway point between a half and a marathon. The half-marathon was the most popular of the five distances with as many as 825 participants while more than 500 took on the 10K. A 5K and 1K kids run were also offered.

Claire Daniels won the inaugural 30K in 2:14:10 as Nick Williams’ 2:03:02 was the overall winning time. Both winners had at least five minutes over their next closest competitor.
