Dieting puts major strain on the brain

stk151315rke

If you’re looking to lose weight, steer clear of overly restrictive diets. Cutting down the calories too much will reduce brain function along with the belly fat.

When dieting, the goal shouldn’t be to go so low with the calories that you’re putting next to nothing on the dinner plate. That will only result in yo-yo dieting, a common mistake made among those who want to get the waistline looking trim. This approach to weight loss denies the body of basic nutrition causing major cognitive strain.

A recent article in The Globe and Mail, suggests that the overly strict yo-yo diet impairs mental capacity thanks to the cravings, hunger and psychological stress that often come it. Not only that, but this style of dieting also causes the release of toxins stored in fat tissues and those toxins do no good for the brain. The cognitive strain can be enough to even reduce the IQ by ten points.

If you are looking to get rid of a few pounds, we suggest swapping fat-accumulating culprits for healthy recipes instead. Up the exercise as well without doing too much too fast. And perhaps most importantly, remember that dieting means eating better, not going hungry.
