homemade energy bars

Ingredients:

1 1⁄2 cups pitted dates, chopped 1 cup apricots, chopped
1⁄2 cup finely chopped dark chocolate
1⁄2 cup granola of choice
3 tbsp pure maple syrup or honey 2 tsp finely chopped fresh ginger Zest of 1 orange
1⁄2 tsp sea salt
1⁄2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

Place all of the ingredients in a food processor container and blend until the mixture begins to stick together. Place mixture on a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheet and firmly form into a 1⁄2-inch thick square. Freeze for 1 hour to firm up and then slice into nine equal-sized bars. For carrying while running, wrap each bar in parchment or wax paper.
