Spice up your sex life by running with your partner

Couples who run together have more sex, research says

We know that running is one of the best ways to improve your cardiovascular fitness, but what if it could help you have more sex? Sometimes an exercise partner is all you need to ignite a spark in your relationship. People usually run for fitness to chase a personal goal, but now you can consider it as a means for more excitement and satisfaction between the sheets.

According to a study published in the Journal of Experimental Biology, running can have an antidepressant effect on your mood through the release of cannabinoids, which stimulate pleasure receptors in the brain. Cannabinoids are also made by our bodies during orgasms. Not only can running elevate your mood, but it can also put you in the mood.

Does running lower testosterone?

When you aren’t feeling well, sex is the last thing on your mind. But when your body is 100 per cent fit, your endorphins and energy levels are through the roof. After surveying a group of runners, the study found that 66 per cent of couples who run together said they have sex more often. You shouldn’t be surprised by this news as running is known to improve testosterone levels in men and sexual arousal in women, according to Women’s Health.

14 ways that running can improve your love and relationships

Any sort of fitness challenge is great for emotional bonding and helps both parties chase their goals. Improving your physical health can help contribute to your sexual health as well.
