The snack: Roasted chickpea recipes

Chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans, are a plant source of fibre and protein. A half-cup (the recommended serving), is approximately 135 calories, with 25 per cent of your daily fibre, 13 per cent of your iron and eight grams of vegetarian protein. As an added bonus, canned chickpeas an inexpensive healthy snacking option, for the nutrition-conscious runner on a budget.
