VIDEO: Matt Damon, Will Smith surprise Olympic champion Ashton Eaton
Matt Damon and Will Smith surprised Olympic gold medallist Ashton Eaton with a message. His reaction is amazing.
Matt Damon and Will Smith appear to be fans of athletics. More specifically, they appear to be fans of the combined events.
The two surprised Olympic decathlon champion and world record holder Ashton Eaton with a surprise message following his performance in Rio. Eaton, who was with his wife, Canadian Brianne Theisen-Eaton, the Olympic bronze medallist in the heptathlon, got a surprise message from the movie stars.

The video, produced by People Magazine, shows Eaton receiving a laptop and playing back-to-back pre-recorded messages by the movie stars. The couple are wearing their Olympic medals while watching the footage.
The surprise message
“If I was going to the Olympics, I’d want to be a decathlete,” says Smith. The American actor is known for his roles in Ali, The Pursuit of Happyness and the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
This was the most massively shocking & awesome surprise. Their acting has inspired me for years. Thank you! https://t.co/ErR7WMCzda

“I’d say Jason Bourne would be a decathlete,” says Damon referencing his character from the Bourne series.
The decathlon is ten events competed over the span of two days at the Olympics. The winner is often known as the “world’s best athlete” because of their ability to excel in multiple events. Women contest the heptathlon, which is seven events over two days.
Both the heptathlon and decathlon include jumping, throwing and running events.
Damon is an avid runner and was seen earlier this year running in a local half-marathon under the name “Matthew Greenleaf.” See how he fared in that race.
