Chatting with Olympian Mohammed Ahmed
We talked to Canada's prospective track and marathon team headed to Rio about hopes, dreams, fears going in to what could be our country's most successful Olympics ever. First up is 5,000m record holder Mo Ahmed.

Who is your all-time favourite Canadian Olympian?
Adam Van Koeverden and Simon Whitfield.
Do you visualize being in Rio in your training?
Every day! If I didn’t I’d feel as though I’d be cheating myself.
Provide us with an idea of what the hardest training session will be to prep for Rio.
5K/10K race pace workouts: Kilometre repeats at 2:30–2:35 or mile repeats at 4:15–20.
What other Canadian track/ running athlete are you most excited for in Rio?
I’m really excited to see what Damien Warner has in store for us.
Will you go for a run on the streets in Rio?
Yes, certainly.
