Canada Olympic House bringing the Tragically Hip’s final concert to Rio

In support of one of Canada’s most iconic bands – the Tragically Hip – Canada Olympic House will host an exclusive viewing party for their last concert ever in Kingston, Ont. Canadian athletes and their families and friends in Rio are invited to join the party at Canada’s ultimate hang out spot during the Olympic Games.

The stream will show the famous band’s final tour stop in the city where the group first originated. The concert, the last of the Man Machine Poem tour, will also be streamed live on CBC. Those in Rio will be getting a mixed dosage of Tragically Hip music along with track action from the Rio Olympics tonight.

As of Friday, there are more than 436 community viewing parties being held for those interested in catching the Hip’s final concert.

The Canada Olympic House hosts friends and family of athletes competing at the Games. The complex is outfitted with a pool, bars, televisions and more in what is the preferred hangout spot for many visiting Rio.

When not in the athletes’ village or at the sporting venues themselves, chances are that athletes are at the Olympic House as they cheer on their fellow teammates. All aspects of the building were given a Canadian makeover for the Games.

Tonight is the penultimate day of action at the Rio Olympics with some big events slated for this evening. The men’s 5,000m, men’s 1,500m and women’s 800m are expected to be the highlights of the night.
