Six spring running tops we love

Being physically active has never been more trendy. Lucky for us runners, leading brands are keeping up with the styles of 2017.

With March winding down, it’s nearly time to shed the winter layers. At this time of year, most runners are relieved to swap out the fleece and instead throw on breathable, mesh or sleeveless apparel. Lucky for us, the trends of spring 2017 will have us looking good while training for that new PB. Fitness is in fashion right now– thankfully. It seems running has never been more in vogue. We’re getting excited about spring and as a result, we’re bringing Canadian runners new round-ups of our favourite seasonal gear. Up this week: trendy women’s workout tops.

The North Face, Women’s Fly Series Warp Tank. $119.99

Crops tops are making their way into the wardrobes of runners are we’re definitely into this style. This one is made with The North Face’s Flight Series material which is designed to keep runners dry and comfortable– even towards the end of the workout. We’re especially a fan of the higher neckline as it creates a nice balance for a cropped design.

New Balance, Cotton Graphic Tank. $49.99

What we love about this tank is that it blends casual wear with workout apparel in the best way possible. While cotton isn’t necessarily a go-to fabric for a sweaty run, this one is great for an easy run, strength session or evening yoga class.  Plus, if you’re a person who just needs to slip into something breezy and comfortable to wear between the workout and errands, this is a great option for that.

Reebok, Women’s Running Active Chill T. $55

It’s flattering, simple and adds a pop of colour to any running outfit. This top is part of Reebok’s spring line and feels as smooth as butter. This no-fuss T is an easy option to throw on before your next interval session.

Nike, Dry Women’s Training Tank. $50

Leave it to Nike to add a fun and fashion-forward spin to your classic sleeveless workout top. This top fits loose and airy so if you’re preparing on working up a sweat, this is an easy sell. Our favourite feature: the straps. This is a functional top but has been updated to look new and fresh. Plus, we like that Nike has chosen a colour scheme that’s easy to match yet is still fun with those colourful straps.

Saucony, Breeze Short Sleeve. $54.99

Why do we love this one? First of all, the pattern is quite flattering. Secondly, you can never go wrong with grey or black tones. This one is low-key and comfortable but with it’s nice chevron pattern, it’s anything but boring.

New Balance & J. Crew, Gingham Sports Bra. $72

Gingham on sports apparel? We’ve never seen it before but we’re a major fan. Not long ago, J. Crew and New Balance teamed up to create workout apparel that blends high-quality performance fabrics with patterns and designs that we see in fashion-forward street wear and items like this one are the result. This is a true gift.
