Independent running brand Tracksmith released its 2018 Boston collection on Tuesday.

The Wellesley, Mass.-founded running apparel company, which has a ‘Trackhouse,’ a shop in other words, on Newbury Street adjacent to Boylston Street, where the Boston Marathon finishes, released six items for men and seven items for women in its 2018 Boston collection. Most notably perhaps is the BQ singlet, reserved exclusively for runners who have qualified, and registered, for the Boston Marathon.

Other items include T-shirts which read ‘Mondays are for marathons,’ as the Boston Marathon is annually held on the Monday which coincides with Patriot’s Day in Massachusetts, singlets, long sleeves and shorts. None of the apparel can feature any of the Boston Marathon or Boston Athletic Association figures as Adidas owns the apparel rights to the race.

Prices range from US$48-70 with the BQ singlets going as the most expensive piece within the New England brand’s Boston line. The singlet, which has been released in new iterations each year since 2014, includes a Cornell-inspired sash and BQ [Boston qualifier] insignia.

The Van Cortlandt racing singlet (which is pictured at the top of this page) is available to the public and varies slightly from the BQ singlet.

This year’s Boston Marathon is scheduled for April 16.
