Every year, Canadian Running names its Golden Shoe Awards. After a national reader’s survey and round-table conversations with CR‘s regular contributors and experts, we recognize the best and most essential runners, races, clubs and places in the country.

Best Running Spot in Canada: Stanley Park / Seawall

If you’ve ever spent time in Vancouver, this pick is a foregone conclusion. Stanley Park is one of the world’s most spectacular parks for running, featuring more than 27 kilometres of trails. Seconds after heading into the old growth forest you feel as though you’re far away from the city. The Seawall itself is a 9k paved multi-use path with a stunning panoramic view of Burrard Inlet, the Lions Gate Bridge, the city skyline, with North Vancouver’s mountains looming in the distance across the harbour.
