The men's runner-up ran his second marathon in a week, averaging 2:26 between the two
The 20th annual Quebec City Marathon, one of the final qualifying races for the 2018 Boston Marathon, wrapped up Sunday morning with a tour of the province’s capital.
As is the case with many big city races, the Quebec City Marathon offers distances for all including a kids race, 5K, 10K and half-marathon. The marathon follows a net-downhill point-to-point course finishing in Old Port Quebec City. The course begins in Levis before runners cross the Quebec Bridge, which provides a challenge later in the race as it’s uphill for several kilometres, over the St. Lawrence River.

The 42K got underway at 7 a.m. on Sunday. According to Sportstats, more than 8,500 runners participated across all events in one of the few major races in Canada in August. According to local journalist Roby St-Gelais, the marathon route will be changed in 2018.
