After being shut out in the medal standings at the previous global athletics championships, Canada was able to win one medal at the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships.

Damian Warner won silver in the men’s heptathlon in what was a Canadian indoor record performance at the Birmingham, U.K. championships. The one-medal haul comes after Canada was unable to win a medal at the 2017 IAAF World Championships last summer in London.
