22-year-old marathoner dies after collapsing during race
Taylor Ceepo collapsed during the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon on Sunday
Taylor Ceepo collapsed just short of the finish line during the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon on Sunday. The 22-year-old runner was brought to University Hospital where officials say Ceepo was dead upon arrival.

Ceepo was a recent graduate from Walsh University where she was a member of the soccer team. According to Cleveland.com the cause of death remains unknown.

The marathon tweeted yesterday morning, “It is with deep sadness that we can confirm that a female runner collapsed during the race this morning. We are looking into the situation further, but our thoughts and prayers and first and foremost with her family during this difficult time.”
