Brown had beaten both Guliyev and Richards at a meet in the Czech Republic earlier this summer, and broke 20 seconds for the first time at Oslo Diamond League in June, where he also edged past Guliyev, the reigning world champion in the 200m.
Canadians Matt Hughes and Sage Watson also raced in Zurich today, Hughes finishing 11th in the 3,000m steeplechase, which was won by Kenyan Conseslus Kipruto after his left shoe came off early in the race. Watson was seventh in the women’s 400m hurdles.
