Galen Rupp, Edna Kiplagat, Rose Chelimo, Geoffrey Kirui and Suguru Osako chat about their post-race activities following the 2017 Boston Marathon.

Boston Marathon

Ever wonder how some of the world’s top runners celebrate after a marathon? At Nike Boston on Tuesday, one day after the Boston Marathon, five of the sportswear brand’s athletes, all of who finished in the top-three, spoke about their post-race meals and activities.

The panel included men’s and women’s champion Geoffrey Kirui and Edna Kiplagat, runner-ups Galen Rupp and Rose Chelimo and third-place among men Suguru Osako. Rupp, the only American of the five, said he and Osako hit up a local steakhouse following the race and celebrated the morning’s accomplishments.

Kiplagat, Kirui and Chelimo, all Kenyan-born touched on what they ate post-race and say that they would be returning home shortly after the post-race Q&A. (Kiplagat and Kirui represent Kenya internationally and Chelimo runs for Bahrain.)
