Boyd breaks Canadian Masters record

Megan Brown and Steve Boyd record impressive performances at London 10,000m.

Veteran runner Steve Boyd  turned in another impressive performance at the Runners’ Choice London Distance Series event on Sunday. Megan Brown also moved into Canada’s all-time top 20 in the 10,000m.

The 47-year-old Boyd finished fourth in the 10,000m, but his time of 31:31.21 was a new Canadian Masters record for runners aged 45-49. Earlier this year, Boyd set the Canadian Masters 3,000m record of 8:49.35 at an indoor meet in Toronto.

Brown, who recently won the Canadian half-marathon championship, ran 33:10.47, easily winning the women’s 10,000m, which doubled as the Ontario Provincial Championship.
