MEC Big Wild Challenge returns for wilderness conservation

eastsooke-parkThe wild is calling!

MEC Victoria is inviting all outdoor enthusiasts to join them in helping protect wild spaces with a trail run fundraiser.

The MEC Big Wild Challenge is back for its 2nd year and offers a Coast Trail Run that will push your limits while having fun outdoors and also raises money to help protect the wild places you know and love. All funds raised will also be matched by MEC.

Participants are encouraged to challenge themselves and choose between a 5K, 12K, or 21K route along the Coast Trail in East Sooke Regional Park on Vancouver Island. They admit to being a tad biased, but say it is probably one of the most beautiful and challenging trails to run on. In doing so, you’ll explore what the West Coast has to offer as you navigate through technical root systems, big wild spaces and breathtaking vistas which are sure to please and impress.

Afterwards, everyone is invited for a celebration in the park with yoga, games and a BBQ.

Registration is free until June 30th and then only $20. Are you up for the challenge?
