RaceGuide’s featured runs and races: July 4-5

Being Independence Day, July 4th is one of the busiest racing days south of the border. Not the case here in Canada when the summer race season sees a bit of a lull. Nevertheless, we’ve still rounded up some excellent events from coast to coast:

Saturday July 4th: The Dam River Runoff, North Vancouver, B.C.

A newer event now in its third year, this trail run takes place in and around Capilano River Regional Park. Both the 5 and 10K courses start at the Cleveland Dam with the 10K course doing a double loop of the 5K. The courses feature incredible views of the Capilano river and canyon with the mountains and Capilano Lake as the backdrop to the finish area. Awards and refreshments are provided at the finish and for $20, participants can purchase a Brooks technical tee with a native salmon art design.
