Rock ‘n’ Roll Vancouver Half & Cunningham Seawall 10K cancelled

Rock 'n' Roll Marathon announced on Tuesday that it has cancelled the Rock ‘n’ Roll Vancouver Half-Marathon & Cunningham Seawall 10K.

Rock 'n' Roll Vancouver Half

Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon has cancelled its popular Vancouver race, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon. Lions Gate Road Runners will resume management of the Cunningham Seawall 10K and Half-Marathon in 2017.

With the cancellation of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Vancouver Half-Marathon & Cunningham Seawall 10K, Montreal is the only Canadian stop on the Rock ‘n’ Roll tour, scheduled for Sept. 23-24, 2017. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Vancouver Half-Marathon had more than 5,000 finishers in 2016. The event featured scenic views of the Lower Mainland mountains and a tour of historic Stanley Park.

The now-Lions Gate Road Runners-hosted road race is scheduled for Oct. 21-22, 2017.

Statement

“It is with sadness we announce that we have made the difficult decision to cancel this event.

While we are sad to be leaving beautiful Vancouver, for now, we are unable to deliver an event experience our participants, team, and stakeholders expect from the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series.

Our partner and historic operator, Lions Gate Road Runners, will resume management of the 47th Annual Cunningham Seawall 10K and Half Marathon in 2017.

Thank you for your support of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Vancouver Half Marathon & Cunningham Seawall 10K. We hope to see you at another Rock ‘n’ Roll race soon.”
