Creative costumes on display at Toronto’s Zoo Run

Participants race through the Toronto Zoo as part of the Canada Running Series event

Zoo Run

The Oasis Zoo Run, which, you guessed it, is held at the Toronto Zoo, was a hit among runners on Saturday.

Participants tested their fitness and creativity as some dressed up in their best costumes for the animal-themed event. The sold-out Canada Running Series event featured a 5K and 10K as well as a cubs run. The challenging but unique course that weaves through various areas of the zoo was held on a hot morning in southern Ontario as temperatures eventually topped 30 C, though well after the race had concluded.

Check out some of the best costumes, from koalas to flamingos to giraffes, as captured by Canada Running Series, a circuit of races in Quebec, British Columbia and Quebec. (The CRS notably puts on the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon.)
