Disney plans first race in Paris

Attention Disney fans (everybody): September 23-25, 2016 will be the inaugural half-marathon race weekend at Disneyland, Paris. This will be the first time a Disney race is run outside the USA.

The race weekend will include an all-ages kids fun run, as well as 5K and half-marathon races. The half-marathon course will wind through two Disneyland theme parks, as well as their surrounding countryside villages. In addition, there will be a pre-race pasta dinner and health and fitness expo leading up to the main events.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Disney run without everyone’s favourite Disney characters along the race course. Runners will have Mickey and Minnie, several princes and princesses, along with numerous others, to cheer them along.

Races packages go on sale on October 6, 2015 and are sure to sell out quickly. Disney has experienced wild popularity with its running events, particularly the themed ones, such as the Disney Princess Half-Marathon, the Star Wars Half-Marathon, the Tinkerbell Half-Marathon and the Avengers Super Heroes Half-Marathon.
