Disney Princess Half-Marathon

Walt Disney World was transformed into one of Disney’s popular road race destinations over the weekend, hosting thousands for the Disney Princess Half-Marathon in Orlando, Fla.

The princess-centric weekend saw women finish in the top eight spots, but the highlight of the Sunday race were the festivities, ever-present at Run Disney events, that go along with the races.

The races, which sell out well in advance, see runners dress up to race as and with their favourite Disney characters.

The weekend started off with the Frozen 5K and there was also, in addition to the half-marathon, a 10K.

Lauren Passell was the first to cross the finish in 1:22:58.

The next Run Disney event isn’t until May, the Expedition Everest Challenge, a 5K obstacle course race though Disney World’s Animal Kingdom.

The cold never bothered us anyway at the Disney Frozen 5K.
