This Sunday is the lululemon Edmonton 10K and runners are getting excited. If you’re entered in the event, which doubles as a massive party, here’s everything you need to know.
The start line is located on 97th by the Alberta Legislature Grounds. Pre-race announcements and warm up will begin at 7:00 a.m. and runners must arrive and be in their corrals by 7:15 a.m. The race goes at 7:30 a.m.
The races starts and ends in roughly the same location with the post-race party area steps away from the finish.
There’s a very strong list of elites entered in this year’s 10K. First off, there will be a battle between two of Canada’s best-ever marathoners, Cam Levins and Reid Coolsaet. The two marathoners will be joined by Evan Esselink, who was the 2018 runner-up at the event.
On the women’s side it’s a race between Canadian 10,000m champion Natasha Wodak, Canadian 3,000m indoor record holder Jessica O’Connell and Gladys Tarus, who was third at the lululemon Toronto 10K.
The finish line is located on the Alberta Legislature Grounds and friends and family are encouraged to meet runners at the post-race area, which is close by at Bandshell Stage. There will be post-race yoga and a DJ set by D.J. Joanna Magic.
