Britain’s Sir Mo Farah has confirmed he will run the Chicago Marathon on October 7.
We reported on May 28 that Farah had hinted he might face former training partner and Nike Oregon Project member, Galen Rupp on that day, but he was also considering New York. Today he announced his decision: it’s Chicago.

Farah broke the British marathon record at the London Marathon in April with his third-place time of 2:06:21. For his part, Rupp proved his mettle as a 2:06 marathoner in Prague last month, winning in a time of 2:06:07. Chicago is sure to be a showdown and the highlight of the fall marathon season.
