Gatineau Park Marathon

Over the weekend, MEC Ottawa held their first Gatineau Park Marathon. The new Capital Region race was the seventh and final event of the 2014 MEC race series. The 42.2K loop of Gatineau Park has been deemed one of the toughest road marathons in the country because of the hilly course. The winners of the event were Patrick Kelly in a time of 3:00:45 and Annie Jean in 3:12:58, who was also second overall. In total, some 300 participants took part in the marathon and half-marathon races.
