Here's how you can participate in the 2021 Santa Shuffle

Even if your Christmas tree isn’t up yet, you can get in the holiday spirit with the 2021 Santa Shuffle, a 5K holiday fun run or a 1K walk for all ages and skill levels. This year’s race will be virtual, but participants are encouraged to complete the run on their own in their community or with their team, friends and family.

Those who sign up can fundraise throughout the holiday season to make a difference in their community, with proceeds from the race going toward your local Salvation Army. Those who register can run their race between Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5.

On your race day, you are encouraged to wear your funkiest festive running attire for lots of laughter and fun. Registrants can participate in the event’s national contests (top runners and best-dressed) for a chance to win prizes.

The festive race began 30 years ago in Edmonton when local Running Room members decided to use their passion for running as a way to raise money to support the less fortunate in their community. In 2001, the race became a national event and now has over 37 Santa Shuffle locations across Canada.
