The 2023 Canadian 10K Championships is finally here, and the nation’s best distance runners are all in Ottawa, vying for the title of national champion. Moh Ahmed will make his highly touted professional road race debut after dominating the 5,000 and 10,000m on the track over his nine-year professional career. Cam Levins, who is dropping down in distance to challenge for the 10K title, won’t make it easy for Ahmed. Levins is coming off a stellar start to the 2023 season, setting Canadian records in the half marathon and marathon in his last two races.

In the women’s race, Natasha Wodak returns to the nation’s capital looking to win her third consecutive Canadian 10K championship. Her third quest for the title will indeed be her toughest yet. Élissa Legault, Briana Scott, and Leslie Sexton are all coming off 15:40 performances over 5K in the weeks leading up to these championships, which could make this race anyone’s for the taking.
