How to watch the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon

The largest marathon in the world is set to get underway on Sunday morning with the women’s elite race at 9:10 a.m. EDT, followed by the men’s elite race at 9:40 a.m. EDT and the rest of the field following shortly thereafter.

In the women’s race, the event has been billed as a battle between women’s-only world record holder Mary Keitany, Tokyo champion Ruti Aga, American Des Linden and half-marathon world record holder Joyciline Jepkosgei of Kenya, making her much-anticipated marathon debut.

In the men’s race, Lelisa Desisa, the reigning world champion, is the favourite to win. He’ll face 2018 second-, third- and fourth-place finishers Shura Kitata of Ethiopia, Geoffrey Kamworor (who won in 2017) and Tamirat Tola of Ethiopia will be looking for the win. Contenders for US Olympic Trials are Jared Ward and Tyler McCandless.
How to watch
The 2019 New York City Marathon can be found on ESPN and ESPN2. The race can also be streamed through NBC’s Olympic channel which requires a subscription. If you’re outside of Canada and the US, a full list of broadcasters can be found here. In Canada the event is live on TSN and TSN2.
