The New York City Marathon is well-known for its large international field with thousands of runners from around the world travelling to the Big Apple for the annual race.

This year, according to the New York Road Runners, Canada ranks 10th among participating nations and ninth among non-domestic numbers. The New York City Marathon organizers list 867 Canadians as entered into Sunday’s race, which will need to top last year’s 51,394 finishers if it’s to become the largest marathon in history.
