Just when the going was beginning to get tough, an unsung hero provided motivation for runners in the New York City Marathon.

In Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, located at approximately the 15K mark of Sunday’s New York City Marathon, a dog was giving out high-fives on course in a video that has gone viral. Between high-fives, the dog was waving to runners passing by in the tens of thousands making it the largest marathon in the world.

“Heckin’ high fives for everyone running the #NYCMarathon,” reads a caption on the account named Marty McFly, described as a “lab/beagle rescue from Texas.”

An account named “DogsBeingBasic” reposted the video, which has been seen more than 450,000 times since Sunday. “This is the most convincing case of I’ve seen to consider running, ever,” they said.
