Ottawa 10K, half-marathon start lines relocated for 2019

Road construction on Elgin Street has meant some changes for 2019

Heads up if you’re running the 10K or the half-marathon at Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend: as a result of road construction on Elgin Street, the 10K, half-marathon, 2K and kids’ marathon start lines have all had to be relocated this year.

For the past several years, the Ottawa 10K and half-marathon have started near the corner of Elgin and Laurier Streets in downtown Ottawa, and run south. This year the 10K will start on the east side of the Rideau Canal, on Colonel By Drive, just below the Laurier Street bridge. The half-marathon, 2K and kids’ marathon will start on Cartier Street, one block east of Elgin, between Ottawa City Hall and Somerset Street.

The 5K and full marathon will start in the same location on Elgin Street as in previous years, since they run in a northerly direction.
