Among the students competing in Friday’s meet was Myles Misener-Daley who’s headed to UCLA in the fall on a full athletic scholarship. He chose UCLA because he felt like it was the perfect place to balance his academic and athletic priorities. Misener-Daley says that the recruiting process was very busy: “I had coaches calling me at home, at school, emailing me, some even got my cell phone number. I’m not sure how. My dad helped me with a lot of it, but it was for sure the busiest time of my life so far.”
After OFSAA 2018, Misener-Daley was selected to represent Canada at both the Jamaica U18 Invitational and the World Junior Championships. At the World Junior Championships in Finland, he made the 400m final despite being one of the youngest competitors in the event.
