“It is with immense pride and pleasure that we welcome Puma as the new title sponsor of the Toronto Women’s Run Series,” says Cory Freedman, founder of TO Women’s Run Series. “We are thrilled to have them as our partner for the next three years.” The series consists of three races in Toronto’s Sunnybrook Park in May, August and October.
The brand’s support of this series will give 4,500 female runners the opportunity to test and review Puma running shoes and apparel at all three Toronto Women’s Run races. The three-year deal will run from 2023 to 2026 and put Puma at the forefront of the half-marathon/10K/5K event in May, the 10K/5K event in August and the 8K/5K in October.
Puma has shown a commitment to growing the sport in recent years, and to providing women with the opportunity to set the pace and support each other as they do it. In 2022, it launched the brand’s first-ever women’s-specific running shoe the Run XX Nitro, which is a progressive, female-specific design. The Run XX Nitro stands behind the brand’s Run for Her campaign to prioritize female runners’ needs with the way Puma designs, builds and engineers products.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Toronto Women’s Run Series to serve as the title sponsor,” says Mark Maguire, VP of sales at Puma Canada. “At Puma, we are committed to backing female runners and providing the best products for all athletes.”
The TO Women’s Run Series will kick off its 2023 race series on May 21 with the Half-Marathon/10K/5K at Toronto’s Sunnybrook Park. The series will also host a penultimate 10K/5K on Aug. 16, and an 8K/5K on Oct. 7.
