Ellie Greenwood on her Comrades Marathon win

The Comrades Marathon is an 89K ultra marathon that takes place in between the cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg in South Africa. Runners must reach each of the five cut-off points before a designated time limit in order to be allowed to continue the race, with a total of 12 hours being allowed to finish the course.

The first Comrades Marathon was run in 1921 and the race has continued ever since, breaking only during World War II. Ellie Greenwood won the race this year in a time of 6:18:12. Below is a video interview discussing her thoughts on her race.
