Justyn Knight and Syracuse team react to NCAA championships win

Just yesterday afternoon, Toronto’s Justyn Knight became the top runner of his team, Syracuse, leading the men to win the NCAA Cross-Country Championships. They beat Colorado with a score of 82 points. Knight placed fourth overall.

Going into the race, they were second favourite to Colorado. This is the first time Syracuse has won the title since 1951.

“Everyone, the fans, the spectators, really got their moneys worth, it was a really great race,” he said. “I came 143rd last year so I’m happy. The main goal is to win but everything in time.”

Knight is in his second year at Syracuse. He is the holder of the Canadian 5,000m junior record.
