VIDEO: Must-see finish at the Ottawa 10K as women’s winner collapses

Kenya's Peres Jepchirchir won the Ottawa 10K on Saturday evening in dramatic fashion as she collapsed to the ground following her finish.

The Ottawa 10K winner, Peres Jepchirchir, had a huge lead as she approached the finish line at Saturday evening’s race in the nation’s capital. Just after finish line volunteers spread out the finisher’s tape to declare her the winner, she collapsed.

See the photo sequence below as she was attended to by paramedics in the finish line chute. She won the race in 31:28.

Jepchirchir was giving interviews after the race and accepted her 10K award so she’s believed to be okay.
