Rock ‘n’ Roll Vegas video embodies spirit of race in fun six-minute clip

Ever wonder what it's like to run a Rock 'n' Roll Marathon with the legendary Meb Keflezighi?

Ever wonder what it’s like to run one of the notable high-energy Rock ‘n’ Roll events? What about running the marathon in Vegas with the renowned American runner and past New York and Boston champion Meb Keflezighi?

That’s the experience which runner Ryan Van Duzer had this past weekend at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas event. Lucky for runners who weren’t there, he documented his experience on camera for Competitor. Featured above, the video shows exactly the vibe that any runner can expect to experience when showing up for race weekend.

The video is only a six-minute watch and yet it captures the energy from this bustling race that takes runners out along the Vegas strip at night time. This destination race and bucket list event comes with on-stage performances that runners can observe as they add up the kilometres as the run past iconic Las Vegas landmarks. Since it’s a rock-themed race located in Vegas, you can bet that there’s a good amount of in-theme running costumes.

Those costumes include Elvis Presley and over the weekend, there was one particularly quick Elvis on the course. Mike Wardian suited up in the trademark white suit and ran 2:38.04 to break the old record of 2:42.
