Run Calgary to host Dash of Doom in-person race October 31

The Dash of Doom will happen in-person in Calgary this year

The Calgary Marathon has announced a hybrid race that will run this Halloween. The Dash of Doom is a 5K race that participants can choose to run in person or virtually on October 31. If runners choose to participate, they can expect the full race day experience, including a starting gun, finish line, and swag.

RELATED: The Calgary Marathon is going virtual for 2020

The event runs in two weeks’ time and gets underway at 11:30 a.m., and there will be waves of 75 people so that runners can socially distance. As always, this is a dog- and costume-friendly event. If you’re planning to run in person, be sure to wear your favourite costume and bring your furry friend along, too. Virtual runners can compete anywhere they choose between October 25 and 31.

Whether you’re participating virtually or in person, all costumes are eligible for awards, including best dog costume, which wins your dog a prize package and a feature on the 2021 medal.

In-person registration closes October 30. Runners can register here
