Seawheeze Half-Marathon switches back to August for 2019

Vancouver's SeaWheeze Half-Marathon is August 17, and introduces group registration later this month

Are you going to be in Vancouver on August 17? If you’ve never run the SeaWheeze Half-Marathon, you don’t want to miss it. There’s nothing like SeaWheeze to give you a taste of the Vancouver lifestyle, from the breathtakingly beautiful course (more than half of it alongside the Pacific Ocean) to the lululemon-clad pacers and spin cyclists to the post-race party, yoga and Sunset Festival in Stanley Park.

This year the race is happy to be moving back to its traditional August time slot at the height of summer. A new feature is the group registration option, and groups get to register first, so get your run club or friend group together and sign yourselves up  starting February 13 at 10:00 a.m. PST.

“Running is about connection, and we wanted to give our guests the opportunity to yoga, run, and party with their run communities,” says a spokesperson from lululemon.

The race, which attracts 10,000 runners from across Canada and around the world, will feature 22 on-course activations, including the ever-popular spin bikes, a boxing ring and a karaoke stage. The Sunset Festival at Brockton Oval in Stanley Park has big-name DJ’s, a dance party vibe, and even a ferris wheel.

Registration is February 13 to 19 for groups of two to 10, and February 20 to 26 for individuals.
