The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon is taking over Ontario’s capital on Sunday morning.
The popular event also doubles as the Canadian Marathon Championships as some of the nation’s top talent come together in search of the title. The race is one of the first major Canadian races to be eligible for qualifying for the 2017 World Championships in London. Performances from Sept. 1, 2016 to May 31, 2017 are eligible for qualification purposes.
The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon is an IAAF Gold Label event, the highest ranking of road race in the world.

Race day schedule
8 a.m.: 5K (Start: Remembrance Drive, Ontario Place)
8:45 a.m.: Marathon, half-marathon (Start: University Avenue at Armoury Street)
The finish line for all distances will be at Queen and Bay at the southeast corner of Nathan Phillips Square. The top men’s marathon runners can be expected around 10:55 a.m. local time, the top women’s marathon runners at 11:05 a.m. local time.
